SECO strengthens its position as a leader in technological innovation by initiating two new projects, funded under the PNRR by the European Union through the Next Generation EU program. These projects aim to elevate industrial development to unprecedented levels. The initiatives are led by BI-REX, one of the 8 national Competence Centers established by the Ministry of Economic Development as part of the government’s Industry 4.0 plan. This centre brings together more than 60 players including universities, research centres, and leading companies, serving as a catalyst for digital transformation in the context of Industry 4.0.
In collaboration with the University of Bologna, Cineca, and significant industrial partners, SECO will leverage its expertise to reshape the manufacturing industry and rethink post-sales support.
PowOps is designed to revolutionize the manufacturing sector and aims to implement cloud-native solutions for the agile and efficient development of industrial software applications. Through an open platform for the industrial cloud continuum (OT-to-Cloud), PowOps facilitates the development, management, and scalability of applications in Edge and Cloud environments. In this context, SECO plays a crucial role in developing a cloud orchestration system based on Kubernetes for Edge Containers, thus improving the coordination of operations in complex OT environments.
The partnership includes Bonfiglioli, SACMI, IPREL, Imola Informatica, Marposs, and DataRiver.
iLuMinAS is a project that utilizes Artificial Intelligence and Large Language Models to transform post-sales support. The goal is to optimize the management of assistance and tickets to elevate the level of after-sales service through a system that not only manages and stores data more effectively but also facilitates customer interaction through an innovative approach of self-diagnosis and automated reprogramming, implemented via chatbots and AI. A crucial aspect of the project is the emphasis on data security, with a setup that prevents sharing sensitive information with external entities, thus safeguarding the functioning and potential vulnerabilities of products and services. Such security measures instil in companies the confidence needed to entrust their data to the system, thereby allowing the generation of insights useful for developing applications for post-sales assistance via chatbots and the continuous improvement of products and services.
The partnership includes SACMI, MEP, CEFLA Finishing, and LOGOS Group.
Both projects not only strengthen SECO’s position as a pioneer in technological innovation in the industrial sector but also promise to generate a significant and sustainable economic impact, improving the company’s competitiveness and adaptability to market demands.
