SECO to display innovative payment, telemetry, and hmi solutions at Vendtra show in Munich

New technologies on display will enable vending machine operators to increase revenues, reduce downtime, and enhance the customer buying process.

SECO, a leader in delivering end-to-end technological solutions for industrial digitalisation – including Vending systems - will showcase a full range of payment terminals, telemetry solutions, and human-machine interfaces (HMIs) for the vending industry at Vendtra (Booth B18) from September 23 to 24. The innovations on display support intuitive and reliable control of vending machines, enabling operators to reduce costs, minimise downtime, and enhance the customer experience.

A particular highlight will be the KarL4 contactless-only reader payment terminal, which enables customers to make payments in a secure and intuitive manner from their debit and credit cards without needing to enter a PIN.

Karl4 also supports reliable age verification via debit cards such as the girocard in Germany and also via VISA and Mastercard in Austria, quickly and effectively checking a person's age during the payment process. This functionality is a critical enabler of the sale of restricted products such as alcohol and energy drinks from vending machines. SECO is planning to enable age verification via VISA card in Germany later this year.

Contactless vending technology is already popular in Germany and is expanding to other countries, including Italy. SECO’s payment solution, enabling contactless payments, will become available in Italy soon. Visitor can find out more about this launch during Vendtra at the SECO booth.

Other technologies on display at Vendtra will include SECO’s Clea Vend cloud-based telemetry solution. Clea Vend provides vending machine operators with real-time monitoring and management of their entire fleet of machines. It delivers automatic alerts for machine failures, comprehensive sales and transaction analytics, and intuitive dashboards that help operators optimise re-stocking routes, prevent revenue losses, and reduce maintenance costs.

SECO will also highlight a range of retrofit HMI solutions for the vending industry that can be integrated with payment terminals to improve the customer experience. The Santvend with an HMI can provide advanced functionality for existing vending machines, simplifying the purchasing process and offering new marketing opportunities, such as upselling, to maximise revenues.

“This is an exciting time for the vending industry as technologies such as contactless and QR code payment, data-driven telemetry, and multimedia displays provide vending machine operators with new opportunities to reduce costs, avoid downtime, and improve the customer experience,” says Martin Duemling, Senior Product Manager Payment at SECO. “Visitors to the SECO booth will experience end-to-end payment solutions consisting of KarL4 and Clea Vend, including telemetry. Our experts will also be on hand to discuss fast-paced technologies such as artificial intelligence and how they will impact the vending sector.”

Vendtra will take place from 23 to 24 September at the Olympic Park in Munich. SECO can be found at Booth B.18.
