Supplying modules for a passenger train coach managing system

What challenges we faced

Railway regulations compliance - Modules had to be produced with PCB and conformal coating for Harsh Railway environments (-40°C ÷ +85°C temp. range) and according to railway regulations.

Long Term Availability - The customer had to find standard modular solution which would guarantee 10+ years of lifetime and 30+ years of support of the passenger coaches where the modules will be installed.

Cost Effectiveness - A modular solution that combined low power ARM architecture with excellent computational power and graphics performance at a reduced cost.

What we did

Finding a modular solution to fulfill several requirements by the customer for their new  Passenger Information System for the local railways.

Results we achieved

Winning Points were the early availability of i.MX8M based modules, the extended temperature range, price, fast response to the customer's needs and SECO’s vast experience in the field.
