The customer needed a solution that would be suitable for various applications. Many complex requirements in terms of space, mechanical differences and a wide range of display resolutions but also hardware requirements such as HDMI®, multiple USB ports, 2x Gigabit Ethernet, power supply and SIM slot had to be considered in the solution.

To implement the requirements, a special carrier board was developed for our Qseven standard module. Our short and closely coordinated decision-making processes, with the involvement of our hardware and software teams, led to a reliable solution that met the special requirements. We made custom BIOS adjustments, implemented a custom boot logo and adapted the BPS. In addition, we performed a signal integrity measurement and rebuilt the custom heatsink. This was made possible by an open exchange between the customer and our team of experts and a close involvement of the software and hardware departments.

In the end the client was able to reduce costs, expand its product portfolio and enter new markets. We delivered ahead of the defined team - a real competitive advantage for our client. Based on these results, the customer has already commissioned SECO with further projects based on the next-generation Intel processors.

What our expert at SECO says

"First, the customer asked for a module in Standard Form Factor (Qseven). As we were in the position not only to support the customer with this module but also with its carrier board, measurement and layout, we showed the customer the advantages of working on this project together. The customer also visited our new Headquarters in Arezzo and could see how we manage processes and get exposure to our System Integration department, where we can develop and deliver solutions with a display, chassis and pillar, fully tested and packaged in the customer’s boxes."
