Renew on-board sensors and video surveillance-digital signage devices on the metro network through modular solutions
What challenges we faced
Railway regulations compliance - Modules had to be produced with PCB and conformal coating for Harsh Railway environments (-40°C ÷ +85°C temp. range) and according to railway regulations.
Long Term Availability - The customer had to find standard modular solution which would guarantee 10+ years of lifetime and 30+ years of support.
ARM/X86 modular solution - A modular solution that combined low power ARM and x86 with good graphics performance in one platform.
What we did
Finding a modular solution to fulfill several requirements by the customer for their new Metro Passenger Information System for the local metro.
Results we achieved
SECO was able to quickly supply both ARM and X86 solutions, built according to Railway Regulations, including LINUX BSP. Moreover, SECO guided the customer through a generation change of Intel CPUs. Customer equipped the new train with several devices based on SECO modules for different purposes. Some of them are related to information system and data exchange between all cars and head car and can’t be seen, but other ones you can see every day.
