Arezzo (Italy), February 23, 2018
From February the 27th to the 1st of March 2018, the Embedded World Exhibition & Conference—the foremost international trade fair for embedded systems—is coming back to the Nuremberg Exhibition Centre, for the annual appointment with the embedded community. SECO, a leading company in electronic embedded solutions as well as a proud, longtime exhibitor at the fair, has put everything in place for showcasing the latest additions to its product range to the tens of thousands of visitors coming.
Among the solutions that SECO is going to present, the SYS-A90-IPC stands out as a boxed solution based on the AMD Embedded 3rd generation R-Series SOC (formerly Merlin Falcon) or G-Series SOC-I (formerly Brown Falcon).
The SYS-A90-IPC is characterised for its capability to deliver a superlative graphics thanks to its Integrated AMD Radeon™ Graphics that can drive up to three independent displays at once (two of which with GX-217GI) up to 4K resolution at 60 fps. Not to mention the compatibility with DirectX® 12, that makes things easier from a developer’s perspective. Worth mentioning, the board also supports Unified Video Decoder (UVD) 6 (4K H.265 and H.264 decode) as well as Video Coding Engine (VCE) 3.1 (4K H.264 encode). The board is compatible with a myriad of video interfaces (up to 3 DP++ interfaces, eDP1.4, DP 1.2, DVI and HDMI 1.4b/2.0), so to be suitable both as a thin client for home entertainment and digital signage/infotainment scenarios and as an industry-oriented machine.
As regards the operating system, the board runs Linux or Windows, including Microsoft® Windows 7, Microsoft® Windows 10 IoT Core and Microsoft® Windows Embedded Standard 7 and 8.
As far as the processor is concerned, the SYS-A90-IPC is astounding, with a clock rate up to 2.1 GHz, (3.4 GHz max) and a maximum of 4 cores in the model mounting the AMD Embedded 3rd generation R-Series SOC (Merlin Falcon).
As in previous years, SECO will attend embedded world with two booths: SECO booth (Hall 1, Stand 441), hosting complete modular solutions and single board computers for the industrial domain, and SECO Lab (Hall 4, Stand 539), dedicated to open-source hardware SBCs of the UDOO product line and applications for makers, educators and IoT designers.
