‘I’m with Telethon Foundation’: SECO joins the program aimed at companies wishing to give concrete shape to their social and corporate responsibility by contributing to the construction of a future without genetic diseases.

Telethon Foundation is committed every day to support scientific research. In 2016, Strimvelis was approved, the first lifesaving gene therapy finally available to all patients, developed by GlaxoSmithKline in collaboration with the San Raffaele Hospital and the Telethon Foundation. A single treatment allows children born with a severe immunodeficiency, the Ada-Scid disorder, to develop a functioning immune system and live a full life without them contracting serious, life-threatening infections from having contact with the outside world.
